This building is an original 18th century farmstead house on an extensive coastal property near Lunenburg. An extensive renovation was carried out to replace the foundation and create additional space. Over 100 years of finishes were stripped back to uncover the original wide plank flooring, timber beams and five foot wide fireplace. Part update, part historic restoration, this project included lots of salvaged materials and fixtures to create a truly unique getaway.
The house was insulated and windows were upgraded to improve energy efficiency without loosing the rustic charm of this historic building.
